SCOTT A. POHL       2/5/1969      Superior Performance - Active

 

Scott is a 4 time member of Team USA Bowling and operates On Track Pro Shop in Cedervale Bowl. Scott received a Gold Medal in the World Championships in the Team Event in South Korea and another Gold Medal in the Doubles Event in the Pan American Games in Santo Domingo. He has received One Silver Medal in the Team Event at the World Championship in Malaysia. Regionally Scott has two PBA Regional Titles. Locally he has one Minneapolis City Title, one Minnesota State Title and 8 CBA Titles and has been CBA Bowler of the Year and an 11 time CBA All Star. He has 4 Minneapolis Team Challenge Titles and 3 St. Paul Team Challenge Titles. He has titles in Alexandria and Fargo. At the USBC National Tournament Scott has been in the top ten in the Team Event 3 times, in the Doubles Event he has placed in the top ten 4 times and in the Singles Event top ten 5 times. In addition he and his team have placed in the top ten in the All Events 3 times. Scott has been on the First Team, All City team in the St. Paul Association three times, 1994-95, 2000-01 and again in 2002-03. He made the Second Team twice. In his career Scott has bowled 8 - 11 in a row, 3 - 298’s, 4 - 299’s, 27 - 300’s and 9 - 800’s.  He also has 3 Sport 300’s to his credit.

 

CLARK E. POELZER     11/27/1951     Superior Performance - Active

Clark has won five Minneapolis Association Championships. They are Singles in 1985, 1996 and 2000 and All-Events in 1985. He was part of the Team in 1996. He was part of the Minneapolis Team Challenge when they won in 1997 and 1999. Clark has 4 Minnesota State Titles coming in the 1988 Team and Handicap division, 1995 Actual All-Events and the 2002 Actual Team Event. In the St. Paul Association Championship Tournament he has also won four titles, two All-Events titles in 1976 and 1980 and two Doubles Titles in 1976 and 1985. Clark was the 1998 U.S. Open Champion and the St. Paul Master Champion in 1999. Clark has titles in Fairmont (2-team, 1-singles and 1-all events), Fargo (5-team), Hibbing (3-team), St. Cloud (4-team) and the Minnehaha Open in St. Paul (3-team, 1-doubles). His titles do not stop there, as in the Central Bowlers Alliance (CBA) he has seven titles and has been named the Bowler of the Year twice. He has been named to the All Star Team nine times. He has also been on the St. Paul All City teams six times. His passion is coaching the youth at Flaherty’s Bowl in St. Paul Minnesota. He has been a CBA Board Member for 24 years, including three years as President. Clark has been inducted in the CBA Hall of Fame in 1996, the St. Paul USBC Association Hall of Fame in 1997 and the Minnesota State Hall of Fame in 2003. In the USBC National Tournament he has posted 17 consecutive 200 games and also posted 2 back to back 2,000 all events scores with his high of 2,111. He also won the 2006 Thanksgiving Hi Roller Tournament. His accomplishments also include 2 - 298’s, 7 - 299’s, 29 - 300’s and 8 - 800’s with his high of 836.

                                           

GERALD “FRITZ” M. AUSING         5/22/1936   Meritorious Service

 

Fritz was a Minneapolis USBC Director for 20 years. He served the association as President during the 1991-92 season. He served the Minnesota State Association as a Director for 12 years. Additionally, he was the Assistant Secretary in the Minneapolis Association for over 10 years. Fritz was very active in the junior bowling program and he served as Chaperone many years. In addition he was very active in the BVL Committee as well as other committees during his tenure with the association. Nationally he was a Delegate to the National USBC Convention for over 20 years. He was also a great competitor on the lanes and has one Minneapolis USBC City Championship to his credit.

BUTCH H. KESLLER              8/23/1942      Meritorious Service

Butch as been involved in men’s leagues serving as a secretary or President from 1967 to 2005. His service did not stop there. Butch was elected to the Minneapolis USBC (ABC) as a Director in 1999. Shortly after he was elected as a Vice President to serve the Board of Directors and in 2003 was elected to the Executive Board. In 2006 he was elected as 1st Vice President and served as President from 2007 to 2009. He held offices in the Minnesota State Association and served on the board from 2006 to present. In 2002 Butch was the recipient of the Director of the Year to document his distinguished service to the Association. He has served on numerous committees including, Transition Board, City Tournament, Hall of Fame Banquet, Brackets, Membership, Most Improved Tournament, Lane Certification, Public Relations and on and on. He was part of the search committee to find locate an Association Manager in 2005 and 2009. Butch has been instrumental in the growth and success of brackets in the tournaments, developing and promoting BVL including a nice display, raising donations for the Hall of Fame Banquet and the Awards Banquets.

LYNN M. ANDERSON        8/26/1947            Meritorious Service

 

Lynn has served as Youth Coordinator and coach for Elsie’s youth bowlers for 17 years. She has served as the North Metro Youth Travel coordinator for 14 years and coach for 22 years. She has served as President and Secretary to this organization over the years. She has been the Tournament Manger for the Minneapolis USBC Youth annual City Tournament from 2002 to present. She was instrumental in starting the High School Bowling (baker system) team tournament in St. Anthony High School in 1990. She went on to coach the team for 17 years. In 2001 she started and helped run the State High School Baker Team Tournament and she has served as the coordinator/director for this tournament and has been running this effort up to the present. She helped develop this into a scholarship tournament event. She helps run numerous other tournaments; Youth Adult, Presidents Day, Good Friday and others. She has co-chaired the 2007 Minneapolis USBC Women’s City Tournament and she is currently on the Minneapolis USBC Board of Directors. She is also the web master/developer for the youth and Minneapolis USBC Association and currently developing a new web site. She has served on various committees during her tenure including Technology Committee.

DuWAYNE E. BRIX                 5/23/1932-12/9/2009        Memorial

DuWayne was a life-long youth coach and mentor to many juniors over the years. He volunteered his time at Golden Valley Lanes, New Hope, Hopkins and Tuttle’s. He served as a Director in the Minneapolis USBC Association from 1982 to 1999 and was appointed to many committees by the various Presidents over that time. He also Served as Vice President of our Association.
