 Review

How many times has it happened?  You’re cruising along with the front nine in a game and get up in the tenth frame.  The ball feels good, you get a good release with a lot of forward roll.  It slams into the pocket and an eight pin stands!  Or, even worse, a pocket 7-10.  There goes your perfect game and jackpot money.  It’s time for a change of rules.  I propose that an official replay review site be established in the great bowling city of St. Louis, MO, ideally at the Anheiser Busch brewery.  Your league team captain may challenge any questionable up through the 7th frame.  If the challenge is upheld, then the captain received an additional challenge.  After the 7th frame, a review may be requested from the local bartender of the bowling center.

In order to challenge, the captain must order a round of Budweisers for the team, (one extra if drock is on the team.) The server will provide a valid replay request number.  The captain should then text the replay request number to the Poobahs in St. Louis where 8 of the finest bowling experts will argue among themselves and will review the play and decide if the eight pin should be ruled a strike, or if the pocket 7 – 10 should be ruled a strike, or a nine pin count, or maybe the 5 needs to be reset with it – the new lily rule.  Team captains will then stand around with headsets on for 5 – 10 minutes waiting for a ruling, while the players sit around telling golf stories and sipping their Buds.

Once the ruling is transmitted back to the bowling center, scores are adjusted and bowling resumes.  Sound Ridiculous??  Well, “Take me out to the ball game.”
